When I started restoring I knew that using tape was not going to be the way to go for me. This shows the first device I made using a funnel, and toilet flappers. It worked as a tugger and I even found toilet flappers that were clear (found at Lowe's hardware)

The device above works great but I had to use a leg strap for tension so I needed a device that I could use with shorts. A dial device would be best but I wanted something quicker the turning a dial. I made this device carving plastic with a rotary tool and coating it with aquarium silicon. I used the same kind of outer gripper I use on the DTR to hold the skin to the bell ( gripper not shown). This device worked well but over time the silicon would peal and it smelled like rubber so I needed to improve my design.

When not restoring I used a retaining ring made from a small nipple. Just cut it and add some holes and turn it inside out and you have a silicon retainer that stays put and is cheap to replace if lost. I've use silicon o-rings but this beats it hands down.

When I made this device I had some issues with the pusher plate I had made one that was larger and had a notch for my frenum. This plate worked ok but had to line up just right when I used the device plus anyone new to restoring would need more skin to use the device. My solution was to make a smaller plate that would clear my frenum skin and fit inside the bell. I do get some discomfort from time to time with this plate. This problem is fixed my adding a piece of a cotton ball between the plate and the glans. It works so well I don't feel it at all.

I then made a cage style plate that would fit over the glans but this plate hurt like hell after 20 minutes and was put into my failed attempts box

I found a lotion that works great at fixing any dry skin problem I would get from time to time while restoring. This is available at Wal-Mart and works fantastic, plus its cheap!

There are a lot of devices now available to restore. Each one has it's prosand cons. I don't bash any other device that people are selling to help guys restore. All devices are based on two categories. Tuggers and dials. These methods have been around for along time and every method, follows one principle. "Skin must be stressed to grow ". People will claim to have the best restoring device out there just to get you to buy what they are selling. Do your own research and find out what will work best for you. I can only show you what I've done to restore myself. |
