Routines I have used with my DTR
Over the past 5 years I have tried many routines with restoring.
I have tested just about every time and tension variations I could come up with. I have found that it is best to change things when you reach a plateau or when your growth seems to be slowing down.
I will be updating this page very soon to give a more details on each method
Please keep in mind these methods might work better for you depending on what stage of restoring you are at.
example would be Dual tension with one elastic would give a new restorer plenty of tension it all depends on the user so don't be afraid to experiment.
Tension varies with each method. This is what dictates on how long I would use the DTR. An example would be using dual tension advanced inner grip with very high tension. I could use it this way for about 1.5 to 2 hours before feeling the need to remove it, I would re attach it and go another 45 - 60 minutes before having to take it off.I would now switch to a low tension for a few more hours before I felt I had enough for that day.

Dual tension/advanced inner grip manual setting( varying tension )
Dual tension/advanced inner grip elastic setting 2 elastics 6" rod
I feel I need to explain the routines I use a little better. After 72 months of tying every time, tension and method of using the DTR I have come to one conclusion. Every method works! What works best is to change my routine every time I feel my progress slowing.Much like exercise my body just gets used to the routine and I need to change things up. I get asked about how much time should the DTR be used. There is no simple answer, Since tension and method plays a role as does your life style and method of using the DTR. What I show here are basic routines. I will mix these up at times. Example would be to use dual tension with advanced inner grip 2 elastics with a 6 inch rod for 2 hours then use the same routine but with one elastic for 3 hours.
Some guys are using routine that split there restoring time during the day, Example would be using the device for 1 hour that taking an hour off then using it again for 1 hour and so on. I have read online about new techniques for skin graphing that use this method instead of skin being under constant tension to grow, the results show a faster growth rate when alternating rest and tension.
Skin needs a reason to grow. If your body feels it take can take the stress without the need to grow more skin cells then it will not grow any. How many hours a day you restore is up to you. 4-12 hours a day is what most restores do. It all depends on how your body responds to your restoring method.
Example of a routine of some routines would be.
- Dual tension with 2 elastics for 2 hours
- Dual tension with 1 elastic for 2 hours
- Dual tension with 2 elastics for 1 hour.
- Dual tension AIG method 2 elastics 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- Dual tension 2 elastics for 2 hours.
- Dual tension 1 elastic for 2 + hours.
